All these weather instruments were constructed by me when I was in junior and senior
high school.
1. The console consisted of two short wave radios, "A" & "B" which I would listen to the daily weather
reports from the "Rural Radio Network" in Upsate New York.
2. The "Rural Radio Network" consisted of weather reports from: Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse,
Binghamton, Albany, New York.
3. I would also listen and log the weather reports for Scranton, Pa. and other local areas.
4. I would then plot and analyze the information on my weather maps and make weather forecast for the
local area of Dunmore and Scranton, Pa.
5. The console also consisted of an electronic thermometer which I constructed located at point "C" on the
console.
6. Point "D" is a light indicator for the wind speed and direction.
7. Point "E" is an electronic tipping bucket raingauge counter which I constructed. I used a counter from an
old pinball machine.
Above is a picture of a "Weather Console" I constructed while in high school.
In this pictures I am sitting at the "Weather Consol"...
