"Radiation"

1. The earth receives heat from the Sun by radiation. The transfer of heat by wave motion. 2. Radiation from the Sun is called Insolation. "SOL" Latin: Meaning Sun. 3. Radiation from the Sun travels at app. 186,000 miles per second. 4. It takes about 8 minutes for the Sun's radiation to reach the Earth. 5. The Sun is the basis for all living things. 6. "Black Bodies" absorb and reflect all frequencies of radiation. 7. The SUN and the Earth are Block Bodies. 8. White light contains all frequencies of light. 9. White reflects all light reaching it. 10. Black absorbs all light reaching it. 11. The angle of incidence equal the angle of reflection. 12. A wave is measures from crest to crest and trough to trough. 13. Red light travels faster through glass than blue light, therefore, red light is bent less than blue light. 14. It takes 4 years of the light of the nearest star to reach the Earth. 1 Light Year. 15. One light year is: 186,000 mps X 60 seconds X 60 minutes X 24 hours X 365 days or 5,865,696,000,000 miles. 16. 60 seconds X 60 minutes = 360 seconds per hour. 360 seconds X 24 hours = 8,640 seconds per day. 8,640 seconds X 365 days = 3,153,600 aseconds per year. 3,153,600 X 186,000 mps = 586 billion miles. The closest Star is: "Alpha Centauri" 4.3 light years away. Sirius, the closest naked eye star in the norther sky is 50,000,000,000,000 miles away, about 8.6 light years.
